Uhamka and PPPPTKA IPA Agree to Develop Science Empowerment

University of Muhammadiyah Prof. DR. HAMKA (Uhamka) agreed to cooperate with the Center for the Development and Empowerment of Educators and Natural Science Education Personnel (PPPPTK IPA). This was attended directly by the Chancellor of Uhamka, Prof. Gunawan Suryoputro, with the team namely Gufron Amirullah, Fahman Habibi, Khairul Umam, Deni Kurniawan, and Abdul Latif. It was also attended directly by Enang Ahmadi as the Head of the IPA PPPPTK with the team, at the PPPPTK IPA Building, Bandung, Monday (31/1).

The signing of this collaboration is one of Uhamka's seriousness in developing its vision as a Prophetic University. Through this collaboration, Uhamka can improve the competence of qualified educators and education personnel in research development and empowerment.

Prof. Gunawan said that Uhamka has strong potential to expand its exploration in the development of empowerment and research through the abilities of the young lecturers that Uhamka currently has.

“Currently, Uhamka has 21,000 students. In addition, we also have 635 lecturers, of which 65% are young lecturers. Therefore, I believe that Uhamka has great potential and opportunities because most of our lecturers are young lecturers. They will be enthusiastic in carrying out this collaboration,” said Prof. Gunawan.

The scope of the implementation of this collaboration includes the implementation of learning through the PPPPTK IPA program, joint research and joint publications, the use of educators who are relevant in their fields, organizing scientific activities, and so on.

This cooperation agreement will run for the next three years. Enang Ahmadi expressed his gratitude to Uhamka for building trust between Uhamka and PPPTK IPA to build educational change. He hopes that both parties can continue to synergize in creating innovations in the future.

“With this collaboration, I hope we can unite ideas and constructive movements between PPPTK IPA and Uhamka because we have many programs that we always develop, including research programs in universities and village empowerment development, namely science villages, so people can learn science and their village becomes a developed village,” he said.
