Uhamka Participates in IISMA to Send Students to Overseas Universities

University of Muhammadiyah Prof. DR. HAMKA (Uhamka) once again received an honor in campus internationalization activities in Indonesia by hosting the Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA) Partnership Week, attended by universities that had sent students to IISMA in 2021 (2/10).


IISMA Partnership Week is a recommendation program by sending Indonesian students to do transfer credit activities at the best universities in the world. This is also part of the Merdeka Belajar – Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program, which is difficult to achieve. Students who want to participate in this activity must have good English skills, an above-average GPA, and pass the file selection and interview selection.


Prof. Gunawan Suryoputro, as the Chancellor of Uhamka, responded well to this activity. He said, "Uhamka is a dynamic campus in internationalization activities that will continue according to the demands of the times. Uhamka is always excited to collaborate with various partners at home and abroad".


On the other hand, Andi Rahadiyan Wijaya, IISMA Program Coordinator Kemendikbudristek, conveyed his response to this program with universities abroad.


“RUDN University is a campus with a long history related to Indonesian history. Therefore, I hope that KUI activists at PTDN can make RUDN University a cooperation partner with universities in Indonesia," said Andi.


The event was hosted by MC Fathia Amalia Sulthonah, an English Education Study Program student and an Erasmus+ Awardee at Sofia University St Kliment Ohridski Bulgaria 2020.


In the presentation session, Representative from RUDN University Gabriel A. Mashiofak, accompanied by Papkova Anna as deputy head of the field, presented an introduction video related to RUDN University, both of whom gave several explanations about the programs available at RUDN University, complete with information on website links for information and more about faculties and departments available at RUDN University.


After that, the event continued on the agenda of a discussion session or question and answer session guided by Silih Warni as the Head of the English Education Study Program, FKIP Uhamka.


The discussion results stated that RUDN University opens vast opportunities for universities in Indonesia to collaborate and cooperate internationally, especially in the departments and faculties of ecology, law, and science, although it does not rule out other departments and faculties as well. RUDN University is also very open to conducting open activities such as joint research, international conferences in various fields, double-degree course programs (with certain conditions), and student exchange activities with universities in Indonesia. In April 2022, RUDN University will open an international conference, where what is published will be included in the journal scoops.


RUDN University also opens free online short-course classes to students from various countries with specific topics such as “climate change”, “environmental norms and regulations”, etc.
