Currently, Indonesia needs more highly educated youth with integrity, leadership and community-based entrepreneurship. Since its establishment in 1997, Economic and Business Faculty (FEB) UHAMKA has been determined to make the faculty different and trustworthy. The difference is actualized especially in the process of character education to manifest intelligent and morals with insight into Islamic values ​​and Indonesian value. We believe that education is the best way to regenerate.

Because of the essence of education is the formation of human (formatio humana), then the development of academic culture in environment of FEB UHAMKA has been chosen as the priority program in realizing the vision and mission of the faculty. The basic principle as an institution that upholds scientific freedom based on akhlakul karimah has been pioneered early and continued through the period of faculty leadership. To date, FEB UHAMKA has undergone three changes of Dean’s figure. Each was Drs. Ahmad H. Abubakar, MM (1997-2004), H. Ahmad Subaki, SE, Ak, MM (2008-2012), Nuryadi Wijiharjono, SE, MM (2004-2008, and 2012 up to now).

The curriculum of FEB UHAMKA is designed to balance theoretical and practical knowledge and integrate hard skills and soft skills in the context of Islamic and Indonesian with global insights. During college, students are provided with knowledge of economics and business and they are encouraged to develop talents in accounting, taxation, financial management, marketing, human resources, and entrepreneurship. To support the achievement of this career, students are given the opportunity to choose various disciplines according to their interests.

Lectures at FEB UHAMKA are managed by lecturers who are not only professionals, but also experienced practitioners graduated from domestic and abroad universities. With their ever-updated skills, dedication, and teaching techniques, they are able to create an effective and inspirational learning environment that is interesting and non-boring. This choice has increased the confidence of stakeholders, especially from parents of students, businessmen, and government towards FEB-UHAMKA’s governance and especially on the quality of its trusted graduates.

Recognizing the increasingly competitive world of work and business world, the curriculum FEB-UHAMKA trying to refer to the Indonesian National Qualification Framework (KKNI), as mandated by the Law of Higher Education. 12, 2012, Article 29. To achieve the standard of competence, as a concrete output from the implementation of quality assurance-based lectures, periodically the content of FEB-UHAMKA curriculum is also constantly reviewed as a form of moral responsibility to students, graduate users, and the community (stakeholders). One of the results of the review is eliminating less relevant subjects / subject content and replacing it with courses that are more relevant to the progress of science, the needs of the world of work and the business world.

In addition, efforts are made to restructure the curriculum so as to provide students with the ability to complete their studies on time, even faster through the Superior Class Program. Starting Academic Year 2013-2014, the entire academic process of students becomes more focused on achieving competency standards. To earn a Bachelor degree from FEB-UHAMKA, the number of credits to be taken by each student is 145 credits, which can be completed within 3.5 to 4 years. Meanwhile, to obtain a degree in Diploma Three Program (D-III) as much as 115 credits, and can be completed in approximately 3 years.
